Historically Belgium is complex from a cultural, political and regulations perspective. In general, the people are tolerant and reserved. The more South, the more a message will be passed indirectly. Even in a small town, not often seeing tourists, you will be welcome, as long as you stay respectfull.

Visit WW I remnants and follow the trail of the WW II allied forces from Omaha beach, along many important places, all the way to where the trains stopped.
